Weather:

Summer high temperatures in the Aleutian Islands range from 45-75ºF during the months of
June, July, and August. Cool, wet, and windy conditions are common, especially when chartering
out on the Bering Sea and Pacific Ocean.

Clothing:
Gloves will keep hands warm/protected and polarized sunglasses will cut down on glare when
out on the water. Windproof/waterproof outer garments, rubber boots/hiking boots, and a warm
pair of socks will aid in keeping your body and feet dry. For maximum comfort, functional/warm
layers of clothing are recommended.
Dress is casual around the hotel and in our restaurants.
Medications:
Due to weight and balance restrictions and/or the weather, sometimes checked luggage may be
delayed or "bumped" when traveling to and from the "bush." Should you require medication on a
regular basis, it is best to have the prescription (bring an extra supply) available to you in
your carry-on. You are always welcome to notify the hotel staff if you have special needs or
considerations during your stay with us in Dutch Harbor/Unalaska. Anyone who suspects they might
have a problem with motion sickness should come prepared with a remedy.
